Another sunny day on our trip took us into the Austrian Alps, to the beautiful Schlegeis Lake. The lake itself is stunning... bright blue water surrounded by dramatic peaks, but what really brought us there was a hike to a well-known photo spot: the suspension bridge that always looks like you’re floating high above the world.
We set out on the trail under a clear sky, the sun warm but not too hot. The hike wasn’t too difficult, and the scenery along the way made it all the more enjoyable.
Eventually, we reached the bridge. I had seen so many dramatic photos of it online... people standing in the middle with the mountains all around, looking like they were hanging over an abyss. And sure, the view was incredible… but in real life, it wasn’t quite as dramatic as it looked in the pictures. You’re definitely not as high up as the angles make it seem.
Still, it was worth it. I took some shots, we soaked in the view, and enjoyed the fresh alpine air. The view over the lake and mountains was beautiful, and even if the bridge wasn’t as dramatic as the photos made it seem, being there in person had its own kind of charm. I took my pictures, enjoyed the moment, and felt grateful for another perfect day in the Alps.
