I arrived in El Chaltén filled with excitement...but nothing could’ve prepared me for the feeling of seeing those mountains for the first time. 🏔️
There, I met up with my friends, the ones I would be sharing an incredible one-month adventure across South America with. We were finally together, and I could hardly believe it. The journey ahead felt unreal, like something out of a dream.
And then came the magic: Patagonia welcomed us with amazingly clear skies. We were ridiculously lucky. The whole time we spent in El Chaltén, there were barely any clouds...just endless views, crisp air, and no wind. It was unreal.
In the beginning, I managed to catch a few sunrises with soft clouds, exactly how I had hoped...but after that, it was crystal-clear skies every single day. And as if that wasn’t enough, we arrived right in time for autumn colors… fiery reds, golden yellows, and deep oranges painting the valleys.
That trip did something to me. It awakened a love I hadn’t paid attention to in a long time, my love for the mountains. I had taken a long break from hiking and being out in nature, and suddenly, I was thrown right back into it… in the heart of Patagonia.
The impact was huge. The contrast, the beauty, the scale... it all hit me so strongly. I fell in love all over again. With the peaks, the silence, the untouched wildness around me.
This was only the beginning. And what a beginning it was. 🌄
