Japan! Just as I imagined, and even better

I finally made it to Japan! After taking an overnight ferry from South Korea to Kitakyushu, I hopped on a train to Fukuoka, my first stop in a country I'd been dreaming of visiting for so long.

And I think it took me less than 30 minutes to realize I was going to love Japan! I was still at the railway station, taking everything in, and already feeling so excited to be there. So many little things reminded me of the anime I'd watched over the years, and I almost couldn't believe I was finally experiencing it all in person.

I was also incredibly excited about the food, having always loved Japanese cuisine. And from the very beginning, the people made such a lovely impression on me. Even though most of the people I met didn't speak much English, they were so kind, friendly, and welcoming.

I only had an afternoon and evening to explore Fukuoka before continuing my journey to Kagoshima, but I really enjoyed wandering around the city and getting my first little taste of Japan.

It was only the beginning of my adventure, and I already had a feeling this country was going to become one of my favorites!
