Surprised by the beautiful colors of autumn in the Dolomites

24 Oct – 4 Nov 2025

I had been to the Dolomites before and already knew how incredibly photogenic these mountains were. But somehow, I had never really paid much attention to what they looked like in autumn. I had no idea just how beautiful they could be at this time of year, and I was genuinely amazed by the colors. The golden and orange trees against those dramatic mountain peaks were simply incredible!

This was our second campervan adventure, at the end of October, and I couldn't have imagined a better way to explore the Dolomites. We visited some of the most famous spots, but the timing made everything feel so different. There were surprisingly few people around, even in places that are usually crowded, and finding somewhere to park was much easier than expected.

And that was one of the things I loved most about traveling with the campervan. Being able to spend the day exploring and photographing these beautiful landscapes, then simply staying overnight right there, surrounded by the mountains. Waking up to those views, without having to rush anywhere, was such a wonderful feeling.

I already loved the Dolomites, but seeing them in autumn made me fall in love with them all over again. I honestly hadn't expected the season to be quite this spectacular, and I'm so glad I got to experience it this way.
