Visiting the pyramids

My last stop in Egypt was Cairo, where I booked a place close to the pyramids, just so I could see them in the early morning. One evening, I caught a beautiful sunset from the balcony and took one of my favorite photos: the pyramids glowing in soft, golden light. I also went to see them up close and inside them. I was surprised by how massive they are...photos really don’t show the scale. I refused the camel rides, since I’m against using animals for tourism, but just walking around was enough.

After that, I stayed a few more days in the city itself...and honestly, I didn’t enjoy it. Coming from the quiet calm of Aswan, Cairo felt overwhelming. It was extremely noisy, and the traffic was exhausting. I felt tired and overstimulated, and it made me realize how much I value peace after weeks on the road.
