Next, I went to Luxor and spent a week there. I visited all the famous sites, the ancient ruins, the temples, the tombs. It was fascinating to walk through so much history, and I really enjoyed photographing it all.
One of the highlights was taking a hot air balloon ride over the tombs. Seeing the landscape from above, in the soft morning light, was something I won’t forget. I also took a boat ride on the Nile, which added to the feeling that I was somewhere timeless.
One evening, a sandstorm swept through the city...something locals said doesn’t happen often. It happened right at sunset, and somehow I managed to photograph the storm rolling in over the Nile. It was a strange, beautiful moment, and it made my time in Luxor feel even more unique.
