Around the end of winter, I joined a photography workshop in the Rodnei Mountains, surrounded by close friends and the promise of quiet, snow-covered landscapes. It was part of a longer 2-months trip I was doing with someone dear across Romanian mountains in winter. We spent our days hiking through deep snow, stopping often to take in the views and capture the stillness through our lenses.
One afternoon, the wind grew stronger and the whole landscape came alive. Clouds began swirling around the peaks, shifting the light in all directions and casting long shadows across the snow. It felt like the sky was dancing with the mountains. I stood with my camera in hand, trying to catch just a glimpse of that movement. It was a powerful reminder of how much I love winter and the magic it brings into even the quietest places.
