While I was based in Cusco, I took a few day trips and one of the most memorable was to Humantay Lake.
The moment I arrived, I felt so excited. The lake, with its surreal turquoise color, sits beneath massive snow-covered peaks, and the view was absolutely breathtaking. It was one of those places that makes you feel both tiny and completely alive.
This lake is actually part of the famous Salkantay Trek, a multi-day hike I didn’t do this time… but now it’s definitely on my list for the future. Just being there, even for a day, made me want more.
The landscape was wild, stunning, and unforgettable. Another reminder of how endlessly beautiful Peru is.
