First time hiking on an active volcano

I went to Sicily to see Mount Etna, and it was my first time going to visit and climb an active volcano. Even though it was pretty foggy that day, the thick mist mixed with the dark volcanic rocks created this surreal, almost otherworldly atmosphere which was perfect for photos.

For a few moments, the clouds cleared just enough for me to catch a glimpse of the main crater.

What surprised me the most was touching the ground and feeling the heat coming through the rocks. I had never felt anything like that before.
