In autumn, I went on a hike with my dad and one of his friends in the Mehedinți Mountains, not far from my hometown. The path was quiet, and everything around us looked peaceful and untouched. I didn’t expect much when we started, but as we walked, the landscape opened up and took me by surprise.
I’ve traveled far, across countries and continents, and somehow this place, so close to home, felt just as impressive. The cliffs, the narrow paths, the way the light hit the rocks and trees reminded me of pictures I had took in China. In moment like this you realize that beauty isn’t always far away. Sometimes it’s been nearby all along, waiting for you to discover it.
