My first city at high altitude (2240m)
When I reached Mexico City, I stayed for three weeks at a friend’s place. One of the highlights was a sunrise hot air balloon ride over Teotihuacan, the site of the Pyramid of the Sun and Pyramid of the Moon. It was a birthday gift to myself, and even though it was my third time in a hot air balloon, this view was by far the best. Floating above the ancient ruins in the early morning light was unforgettable.
Mexico City itself felt massive...full of life, movement, and energy. I loved the food, from street tacos to fresh fruit juices. It was a vibrant end to a long, beautiful journey.
