The Singapore Brazilian Zouk Festival, organized by Cheryl, was the last festival I attended before the world went into lockdown. As the largest Zouk festival in Asia, it was an unforgettable experience — filled with dancing, connection, and excitement.
One of the most surprising and memorable moments was when I heard “Acele,” by Carla’s Dream, a song in Romanian, playing during the festival. It was such a strange yet wonderful feeling to hear a song from home so far away. It reminded me how music and dance can bridge distances in ways we don’t expect.
The festival was a beautiful culmination of experiences before everything changed, and will always be a special memory.
