Nera Gorge-Beusnita National Park

Sometimes the best adventures are right under your nose. I finally took the time to explore natural gems not far from my hometown, places I had always heard about but never visited. With Geena, my dog, and my boyfriend at the time, we set off for a few days of camping, long hikes, and fresh air.

We wandered through the wild beauty of Nera Gorges, admired the surreal blue of Bei Eye Lake, felt the mist of Beușnița Waterfall, and stood in awe by the mysterious Devil Lake. It was a reminder that wonder doesn’t always require a plane ticket or long distance travel; sometimes it just takes stepping into your own backyard.
