How Albania became one of my favorite European countries

I arrived as usual without expectations, yet the only main reason why I was here was that I needed to take a flight and Tirana had some good deals.

Spending one week in this city blew my mind... From the first day, I was amazed by their food and.. the prices! So low prices for such good food! What followed was discovering the great hospitality of Albanians. I just love these people! Extremely friendly, they want to help you with anything and most know some English, at least in the capital.

Also, I just assisted here to my first felt earthquake ever for 3 seconds, on the last floor of a 4th-floor building. I thought that was special but then I did some research and it seems this was the 4th of this magnitude (4) in the last 30 days. So indeed, they have lots of them around here.

This time I took very few photos, unusual for me, but I just enjoyed my time around the city without the camera.

Because of the way I'm traveling, on a budget, this also places Albania in my list of the cheapest fun and safe countries you could see around. Oddly enough, it reminded me a lot of Southeast Asia, amazing food, and great friendly relaxed people. And the cars traffic... yeah that also reminds me a bit of Asia.

So close yet I never knew how nice it is. For sure I will be back!
