Forró vs Zouk was a lovely event held in Brasília, bringing together two beautiful dances and a lot of local energy. It was a bit different from other congresses I’d been to—this one had a strong Brazilian presence, with most of the dancers coming from around the country. It felt more grounded, more rooted in the local culture.
At that point, I had just started to speak a bit of Portuguese, and it was both fun and challenging to try and connect with locals. People were kind and welcoming, and that made it easier to feel part of the experience. The vibe was warm, full of Brazilian passion for dance, and I left with great memories and new connections.
