Attending the 7th edition of the Warsaw Zouk Festival was a whirlwind. With over 900 people, it was bigger than anything I had experienced before. The organization was spot on, and the quality of dancers was absolutely amazing, the talent was awe-inspiring.
But with so many people, the atmosphere felt a bit overwhelming. It seemed like everyone was on a mission to find a specific perfect dance partner, and I couldn’t help but feel a little of that FOMO myself. It was like the crowd was living in constant competition to connect with the best dancers, which didn’t always feel like my scene.
Though it was an incredible event and I’m glad I went, I realized that for me, a smaller, more intimate event might feel more at home.
