Views over Medina of Fes

After the desert experience, our next stop was Fes, one of Morocco’s most iconic cities. We arrived tired but excited to see what this historical city had to offer. Our accommodation was a beautiful riad with a rooftop view over the old medina. From up there, you could see the maze of rooftops, minarets, and laundry lines, all wrapped in warm afternoon light.

Fes felt full of life and color. The streets were narrow and packed, the buildings decorated with old tiles, and the smells of spices and fresh bread followed us everywhere. We walked through the markets, got lost more than once, and had fun haggling for small souvenirs and clothes. It was the kind of place where even a short walk turned into a little adventure.

We didn’t have many plans, just wandering, tasting local food, and enjoying the energy of the place. The city had its own rhythm, very different from Marrakesh or the desert towns. It felt less touristy and more raw in a way that made it even more interesting.
